Responsibilities 

  • The Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for origination and loan productions of real estate mortgage loans, in accordance with established Federal, State and company lending practices in order to achieve profitable loan growth and production
  • Provide high-quality customer service
  • Interview potential and current clients to understand their borrowing needs for purchases and/or refinances
  • Originate high quality loans that are within lending policies and operating policies
  • Develop relationships with customers, real estate professionals, builders, and other business referral sources to promote growth and profitability
  • Collect and analyze borrower financial data, while understanding the underwriting requirements and effectively inform prospective and existing customer of appropriate programs, rates, policies, and loan procedures
  • Maintain awareness of interest rates and products
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely loan data in the loan processing system
  • Proactively communicates loan status to the borrower, real estate agents, or builder
  • Respond to and resolve customer service requests according to company policy in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner at all times

 Qualifications 

  • Loan origination: 2+ years (Preferred)
  • Customer-service focused
  • Detail-oriented and well organized with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while working with limited supervision, exercising own initiative and judgment
  • Prefer some Mortgage industry experience
  • Excellent critical and analytical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills, and sound judgment
  • Basic understanding of Conventional, FHA, VA loans including a strong understanding of the mortgage loan process
  • Knowledge of mortgage loan origination systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software

Required Qualifications & Skills 

  • Must maintain a current, active NMLS license
  • Must meet all state requirements for continuing education and training
  • Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal guidelines pertaining to mortgage origination
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing to maintain the company’s customer service standards

Education & Experience 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college education preferred
