Cystic fibrosis:
a personal story
In 2016, our founder and CEO, Paul Cargal, learned the devastating news that his nephew, James Alexander, was diagnosed with a rare, life-threatening disease called cystic fibrosis. Despite his diagnosis, James is an active young boy, who is incredibly outgoing and aspires to be a professional baseball player when he grows up.
Every year, Summit Funding Advisors joins thousands across the United States to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s mission to cure cystic fibrosis, to provide those living with the disease the opportunity to lead long, fulfilling lives by funding research and drug development, but more importantly for us, to enjoy more tomorrows with James.
Read more about James’ story at the Marietta Daily Journal, East Cobber Magazine and 11Alive News.
It’s not about the glory,
it’s about the lives we touch!
Giving is not about the money we spend or even what we receive in the process, but rather the lives we touch, the lives we give, and the lives we enrich.

Community & Youth Sports
Northside Youth Organization
Since 2008, our CEO, Paul, has given back to his community through his love of sports. As a child, he played sports with NYO. As a young adult, he started his give-back to the program by volunteering to coach. Now a proud parent of four, he gets the opportunity to coach his own kids in the organization he has supported for years.
For over 70 years, the Northside Youth Organization (NYO) has fostered the growth and development of young athletes of the North Atlanta community. NYO has grown to become one of the largest intra-league youth sports programs in the country, serving 5,000+ children annually. Most of NYO’s success is the direct result of engaging volunteers, all of whom are introduced to NYO’s Positive Coaching and Parenting Alliance, an initiative that ensures an enriching and supportive athletic environment for our kids.
Youth Sports
Sequoyah Lacrosse
Our Business Operations Manager, Brenda, is the proud parent of a Sequoyah Girls’ Lacrosse player. Since 2014, Brenda has volunteered as head coach in the CYL program; she served on the Board of Directors of both Sequoyah Lacrosse and it’s junior feeder team and remains committed to volunteering her time to the Club. For her commitment to youth sports and the program, we continue to support the Sequoyah Lacrosse program.
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
